Revenue Department Releases August 2017 Collections

Harrisburg – Pennsylvania collected $2.1 billion in General Fund revenue in August, Revenue Secretary Dan Hassell reported today. Fiscal year-to-date General Fund collections total $4.2 billion.

Sales tax receipts totaled $838.7 million for August. Year-to-date sales tax collections total $1.8 billion.

Personal income tax (PIT) revenue in August was $899.5 million. This brings year-to-date PIT collections to $1.7 billion.

August corporation tax revenue totaled $59 million. Year-to-date corporation tax collections total $120.8 million.

Inheritance tax revenue for the month was $83.3 million, bringing the year-to-date total to $166.3 million.

Realty transfer tax revenue was $49.8 million for August, bringing the fiscal-year total to $90.2 million.

Other General Fund tax revenue, including cigarette, malt beverage, liquor and table games taxes, totaled $155.5 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $293.9 million.

Non-tax revenue totaled $42.9 million for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to $65.1 million.

In addition to the General Fund collections, the Motor License Fund received $303.2 million for the month. Fiscal year-to-date collections for the fund – which include the commonly known gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine and fee revenues – total $551.8 million.
